The Wee
Folks Area is a whole tent with various games and activities
for all of the lads and lasses attending Irishfest-La Crosse. The
tent includes a special stage that will feature lessons on Irish
dance, sheep shearing, songs, and storytelling.

Blarney
Castle Contest
Rules:
- Create and build your best Irish castle (SOME parent help is O.K.)
- DO NOT use any food products on your castle, but anything else
goes!
- The size of your castle is not to exceed 18"x18"x18".
- Age levels: Children 4-8 and Children 9-11.
- Please deliver your entry on Friday, August 13, from 9:30AM until
10:00AM to the Southside
Fest Grounds (1 Oktoberfest Strasse, La Crosse, Wee Folks Tent)
- Judging begins at 10:00AM.

Winners will be announced during the opening ceremony at 11:00AM
at the main entry of the fest grounds.
- Castles will be on display during the fest and may be picked up
on Sunday at 2:00PM.

Folks Highland Games |
While
Highland Games is a generic term for festivals celebrating Scottish
and Celtic culture and heritage, the original games centered
around athletic competitions.
Boys and girls, ages 4 - 12, are invited to show-off their athleticism,
agility, and strength at the first-annual Wee Folks Highland
Games on Saturday, August 14th. Events start at 1:00PM.
Events include:

Rock throw
- Sack race
- Egg & spoon
- Tug-o-war
(ages 4-6, 7-9, and 10-12)
Kilts
stronly encouraged, but not required

- Greenest Eyes
- Most Freckles
- Reddest Hair
- Cutest Leprechaun:
Judging will be based on home made
costumes, creativity and presentation on stage.
All Leprechauns are invited to join the Wee Folks Parade each day
through the fest grounds. |
